Things To Do
Hilton Garden Inn Tuxtla is on Belisario Domínguez Boulevard, in Tuxtla’ prime commercial and hotel district. Only 10 minutes away from downtown, and 35 minutes away from the International Airport Angel Albino Corzo, and just one block from the most important shopping mall in the state.
If this is your first visit to the city or you simply want to enjoy the colonial architecture displayed, you should visit the Cathedral of San Marcos, and enjoy the "neo eclectic" architectural style or admire the monument to the flag of 25 meters in height and covered by engravings of pre-Hispanic inspiration; then go to the Plaza of the Marimba to dance to the sound of this regional Ensemble and then take a tour in a streetcar named El Tuxtlequito - around the main attractions of the Chiapas capital.
You can also visit the ZOOMAT, the most recognized Zoo of all Latin America due to its extensive work for the protection and conservation of the abundant flora and fauna of Chiapas. It is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday from 8.30 hours to 16 hours. It's also worth a visit to the regional museum with its modernist infrastructure and interesting exhibits.
Last but not least go to the Sumidero Canyon a narrow and deep canyon surrounded by a national park located just north of the city of Tuxtla Gutierrez. The canyon has vertical walls which reach as high as 1000 meters, with the river turning up to ninety degrees during the thirteen kilometers that the narrow passage runs. Don’t miss the boat tour.
